Step 4

Now is the time...

-To stay in touch with your lender to provide whatever documentation is necessary for the final loan requirements.

-For the seller to take care of any requested repairs.

-For the lender to go through the underwriting process.

-As a buyer, you will want to arrange for the utilities to be turned on when the seller’s is turned off, don’t forget the phone company, cable company, and that everyone on your mailing list has your new address.

-Moving preparations should be made as soon as you know your move date. Review the moving tips under “Finally it’s Moving Day.”

AT THE CLOSING

-I will be given a copy of the HUD (settlement statement) showing the closing costs beforehand and we will go over this together to make sure there are no surprises or mistakes.

-The closing will take place at the title company or bank. The buyer & seller close together and if possession is day of deed you will be given the keys to your new home. If the owner retains possession for a number of days as agreed in the purchase contract, then I will contact you on their move date with your keys.

-The “closing” is not the end of our relationship. I'm here at this point to be your friend if you have any questions. Please call me!
